   I watch people
   from inside
   on the outside

   how they scheme
   killing dreams
   toasting marshmallows

   teasing fires
   making their own rain
   on their own terms.

   Do they feel?
   Can they feel?
   Is nature a vacuum?

   Please don’t bury me alive
